The FLOTO project is thrilled to announce two significant partnerships that mark a pivotal expansion of our broadband research efforts. We have recently secured research agreements with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Merit Network, aiming to deploy our innovative FLOTO infrastructure in Milwaukee, WI, and San Rafael, CA. These collaborations represent a major step forward in our mission to provide comprehensive, real-world data on broadband performance across diverse communities.
In Milwaukee and San Rafael, our goal is to install approximately 600 devices that will gather crucial data on internet access and quality. This initiative is not just about understanding the current state of broadband; it’s about empowering local organizations, government officials, and communities to make informed decisions. The data collected through these deployments will play a crucial role in directing BEAD funding from the federal government, aimed at constructing robust broadband infrastructure and ensuring universal broadband adoption.
By joining forces with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Merit Network, the FLOTO project is extending its reach and impact. These partnerships allow us to support the efforts of those on the ground, working tirelessly to improve internet equity in their regions. The insights gained from the deployment of our devices will provide a clearer picture of where investments are needed most, helping to bridge the digital divide and bring high-quality internet access to all.
This expansion is a testament to the power of collaboration in addressing complex challenges. Together, we are poised to make a significant contribution to the national effort towards universal broadband adoption. As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we remain committed to our core mission: to improve our understanding of broadband infrastructure and to ensure that every individual can benefit from reliable and fast internet access.
Stay tuned for updates on our progress in Milwaukee and San Rafael, and join us in celebrating this milestone in our journey towards a more connected and equitable future.
